The Blachotrapez company was founded in 1995, however, the company's beginnings date back to the late 1960s and early 1970s, which are inseparable from the person of Jan Luberda. In 1969, a roofing company was founded by Jan and Teresa Luberda. By covering roofs, assembling gutters, and flashings carried out in its own workshop, the business was constantly developing, increasing the number of employees.
Over the years, thanks to diligence, perseverance, and highlander determination to meet the needs of the market, the company has evolved
from a roofing workshop into a production and trade company, and quickly became a major distributor of steel sheets from Vladimir Lenin Steelworks, today ArcelorMittal Poland S.A., Florian Steelworks, and aluminium sheets from Konin Steelworks.
The beginning of the 90s causes a total change in the scope of activity and the main area becomes the wholesale trade of sheet metal and production of roofing.
In 1992, the first production plant is established in Ponice, in Nowy Targ County, by the northwestern slopes of the Gorcy mountains in Poland. A year later the first retail outlet is opened in Sękocin, and in 1995 the next one, this time in Kraków.
The end of the 1990s brought a big increase in demand for roofing, which the company had to keep up with.
To this end, in 1997 another production plant was established in Rabka-Zabornia, and the rapid expansion of the retail network in Podhale region and the former Bielsko Province began. Also in that year, Blachotrapez was the first to introduce Aluzinc, a new type of roofing material.
In 2003, another plant has started production in Sękocin Nowy near Warsaw.
By the end of that year, Blachotrapez had already sold sheet metal in 40 own branches and opened a wholesale department.
The year 2004 was the beginning of organised foreign expansion.
The company was constantly expanding its commercial offer and operating areas. Blachotrapez s.r.o. was established in Slovakia, offering sheet metal produced in Poland, currently in 37 retail outlets. In 2007, the organised operation began the export department offering, through its own representatives, Blachotrapez sheet metal products in Romania, the Czech Republic, Belarus, and Hungary.
2007 marked the start of the modernization of the production plant in Sękocin.
A new production hall was erected, equipped with modern technological lines, for the production of high investment trapezes. The first profiles rolled off the line in May 2008.
The turn of 2010 brought about a change in the company’s legal form
and consolidation of southern Poland’s production plants into one facility in Rabka-Zabornia.
The year 2012 meant already three modern production plants, our own vehicle fleet of over 150 trucks and vans, the largest own retail network in Poland, over 110 retail outlets in the country, and two sales offices serving wholesale customers: Zabornia and Sękocin.
Blachotrapez also began to expand into foreign markets. A Slovak branch named Blachotrapez s.r.o was established, with headquarters in Tvrdošíne, and 37 commercial outlets all over Slovakia. In the same year, Blachotrapez s.r.l. with headquarters in Baia Mare was registered in Romania, which successfully started operating its own network of retail outlets.
In 2014, the company’s product portfolio was extended by an introduction of a new roof tile profile.
Furthermore, Germania made its debut on the market. Thanks to its unique design and unique aesthetic qualities it has remained the flagship product of Blachotrapez to this day. Customers also loved Germania for the possibility of ordering cut-to-size sheets.
That year was another big break for our company. The focus on the combination of aesthetics and unique technical solutions has become our distinguishing feature. The first Blachotrapez spol. s r.o. branch was also established in the Czech Republic with headquarters in Havlíčkův Brod.
2015 was a year of new products and modern technological solutions. The Talia metal roof tile with its extremely slim form and the innovative Janosik metal shingle were introduced by us to the market.
As a result of many years of observations, analyses, and tests carried out by Blachotrapez experts in cooperation with ThyssenKrupp specialists, an innovative Safe Profiling System (SPS) was introduced — a patented technology for secure sheet metal profiling. A revolutionary system, guaranteeing increased sheet metal life, which we have been using in the production of all metal roof tiles models ever since. It was this innovation that led the company to extend the warranty on selected products up to 40 years.
Blachotrapez became the official partner of the Polish Football Team, at the same time starting cooperation with Kamil Glik, who became the brand ambassador.
One of the ambassador’s tasks is to promote the latest product in the brand’s offer. The Tysenia flat roof tile is a combination of excellent functionality with the highest aesthetics and minimalist design. Tysenia and other brand products started to be available in Poland’s largest retail network, as well as at the company’s distributors. They could also be purchased in 34 stores in Slovakia, 14 in Romania, and 5 retail outlets in the Czech Republic. In addition, the construction of a new roofing production hall has started this year in the Czech Republic and Rabka-Zdrój.
The Blachotrapez is launching a new brand of products - KROP PVC and Steel gutter systems.
They are being produced in a fully automated production facility located in Myślenice – Polanka. Blachotrapez is also reinforcing its presence on the Czech market. In March, the Czech company Blachotrapez spol. s.r.o completed the first phase of the investment in Šmolovy near Havlíckuv Brod, putting a new central warehouse into use.
The Blachotrapez brand range is being expanded to include the new HIGH-TECH flat panel with the most modern clip technology on the market. The Roof Expert Programme, an initiative by Blachotrapez aimed at architects and designers, is also under way.
2019 was in addition the year that saw the start of collaboration with the Polish Ski Association. The contract means that Blachotrapez, as the only manufacturer in the industry, can use the title Official Sponsor of the Polish National Ski Jumping Team in its marketing activities.
The company began 2020 by celebrating the largest sales success in the history of Blachotrapez, as well as the 50th anniversary of its business.
The umbrella of brands is expanded to include Solid Steel – the first manufacturer of stone coated steel roofing. The brand makes its début with Thunder – produced in Onyx, and with design which perfectly imitates traditional wooden shingle.
The company receives an MTP Gold Medal for innovation for the KROP PVC and Steel Gutter Systems at the BUDMA International Construction and Architecture Fair, and an Acantus Aureus award for the most interesting stand.
The modern symmetrical flat Estima metal roof tiles joined the range, as did new aluminium material from the HYDRO steelworks in Norway. With the initiation of production at the new plant in Bochnia, thanks to the use of the Just In Time method, the company makes a new service available – Express Roof 72h. This allows all components ordered to be delivered to the client’s final construction site. The plant in Bochnia plays a major role in the process of taking management through quality up to a new level. In 2020, the company also receives an ISO 9001:2015 certificate as confirmation of the high quality of the services and products offered.
By expanding its broad portfolio of activities in sports sponsoring, the company supports both the men’s and women’s Polish National Ski Jumping Teams. The new brand ambassadors are Kamil Stoch – a member of the Polish national team who also jumps for the club KS Eve-nement Zakopane, four-time Olympic contestant, individual Olympic and World Champion, as well as the kickboxer Bartłomiej Domalik - a member of the National Kickboxing Team, who competes for Jarosz Fight Club from Rabka-Zdrój. Blachotrapez also becomes a sponsor of the Malinka ski jump in Wisła.
2020 saw the start of the Blachotrapez Great Roofing Champion Contest, and the BT-News and BT-Ekspert programmes. As part of its CSR activities, it assists local health service departments struggling with the SARS COV-2 virus which causes COVID-19.
The Revolt Energy brand, part of the Blachotrapez Group, commenced business as a supplier of photovoltaic systems which sets a new standard in the renewables industry.
The innovative Complete Roof System service gains popularity, and the company’s range includes solar panels, heat pumps, energy storage and solar farms. Blachotrapez also becomes the owner of PVex – a photovoltaic component wholesaler. The new brand ambassadors are Kamil Glik – the Polish footballer playing in defence for the national squad and for the Italian club Benevento, and Anna Tybor – the first woman in the world to climb the eight thousand metre Manaslu without additional oxygen then ski down from the summit. Blachotrapez supported the ski mountaineer during the Dream Line Manaslu 8163 expedition.
Blachotrapez expands its sponsoring operations and becomes the sponsor of International Football Tournaments (including the Sokolik Cup), at the same time starting a collaboration with the “Ja Też Mam Marzenia'” (I Have A Dream Too”) foundation. Blachotrapez combines business with sport by collaborating with KS Eve-nement, supports the Polish ski jumper Jan Habdas, and is present at the Blachotrapez Tatra Cup and Ski Jumping Tatra Cup.
Blachotrapez is certified by the Great Place to Work Institute for its pro-employee activities. This year it also receives a TÜV NORD Poland - Proven Product certificate as a guarantee that all Blachotrapez products are innovative solutions with of high standards of quality. Trend, a new flat roofing sheet, appears in the range.
In 2022 another brand joins the portfolio - GARD Fence Systems. The company is involved in a rage of community activities.
The project range is expanded to include T-Panel and Terrano roof panels as well as a separate product - Terrano IZO. The newest product in stone coated steel roofing family is Blizzard – a highly reliable roofing sheet with a written guarantee of up to 60 years on its durability, while other new items are T7 and T7 PRO trapezoidal roofing sheets. A product from the Blachotrapez range, German Simetric, receives certificates from TDI (Texas Department of Insurance) and CREEK TECHNICAL SERVICES, LLC, confirming that it is resistant to strong winds up to 170 km/h.
The website of Outlet Blachotrapez goes online in 2022. We are present at the Autumn International Building trade Fair.
The Roofing Champion Contest 2022 also has its Grand Finale, held at the Średnia Krokiew complex in Zakopane. The main prize was a Toyota Hilux.
The company débuts on the list of Best Workplaces in Poland created by the Great Place to Work® Polska Institute, simultaneously receiving the title Ethical Standard Spokesman. A mere four months later, the company became one of Europe’s leading workplaces. Blachotrapez was awarded the title of Best Workplace in Europe for the first time in the large business category.
Blachotrapez was once again the Main Sponsor of the Blachotrapez Tatra Cup, organised by the club Eve-nement, we supported the Skrzyczne Challenge 1257 and “Dycha pod Krokwią” (10 km by the Krokiew) race, we also took part in the “Be Active with the Blachotrapez Group” sports challenge. Like every year
we took part in the Noble Box Miracle Weekend.
Cooperation is also starting with local institutions, with Blachotrapez the main sponsor of the Krakow Vacations with Culture, beginning its collaboration with the SIEMACHA society. The Luberda Family Foundation expands its activities. The foundation was started by Renata Luberda, with the aim of making use of the business potential of companies in the Blachotrapez Group, as well as its business partners, to provide help. From the very start of its activities, the foundation has been providing money and material aid to Ukraine. The vision of further expansion of the LFF is based on the same objectives which have inspired the founders since the beginning, namely helping the needy in the Podhale region.
We start the year with industry trade fairs.
Blachotrapez was the Strategic Sponsor of Dach Forum, where new products from BTR Systems - Bolt, Mistral and Storm - made their début, a truly great première. New designs and a wide range of colours of the stone coated steel roofing attracted the interest of business partners as well as roofers. Also debuting were the adjustable PVC corners from KROP.
Quality and responsibility are fundamental for us! Blachotrapez joined the UN Global Compact, the UN’s largest initiative operating on behalf of sustainable business, and obtained membership of the Polskie Forum ISO 9000 Club.
Another brand from the Group’s portfolio made its first appearance – Power Base Construction. At the Greenpower Renewable Energy Trade Fair we presented ground structures for solar farms, as well as micro-installations and flat-roof systems. The crowning moment of the entire team’s work was receiving the Acanthus Aureus award. The only official distributor of PBC solutions is PVex.
Another Training Centre. This time we set our sights on Brwinów. Blachotrapez is responding to the needs of the industry by expanding its training facilities. The location in Central Poland and the new range of trainings is suited to both roofers and traders, architects, vocational teachers and pupils of building schools. Training is carried out at various levels by the CS Blachotrapez training team and roofing champions.
We attended the Sacroexpo International Exhibition of Church Construction, Church Fittings and Furnishings and Religious Art, Bricomarché Poznań International Trade Fair, the Your Home 2023 Building Trade Fair and the Opolagra. Exhibition
We received a Business Champion award at the International Economic Forum organised by the European Centre for Business Development, and Quality of the Year Emblem for the Management System awarded by the Qualitas Foundation European Centre of Promotion of Good Business Practices. The final of Best Managed Companies Poland 2023 ended with an award for us for the highest standards of management, and the title of Best Managed Company.
We extended the warranty on Polyester Standard matte (AM) coating. A 35 year warranty against perforation and 15 year appearance warranty against the paint coats peeling in a C3 environment.
We are providing unfailing support to our ambassador Anna Tybor, the first Polish woman, in fact the first woman in the world, to reach the summit of Broad Peak without an oxygen cannister then ski down with the support of BTR Systems. We have started the Strength of Character campaign.
Blachotrapez is the first company to join the nationwide Wiecha Guild of Tinsmiths, Roofers and Carpenters. We discussed collaboration at the Great Craft Picnic. We were also present at the All-Poland Roofer Day and the Carpenter and Roofer Fair in Chochołów.

September fourth sees the launch of the 4th Roofing Champion 2024 competition, and the first Regional Roofing Champion.
